November

Connecting

WHAT WAS THIS MONTH ALL ABOUT?

Our theme for November is Connecting. That’s connecting with other people, connecting with nature and connecting with yourself. Connecting is one of the 5 steps to wellbeing, according to the NHS, so make sure that you spend time with others. That doesn’t mean you have to go on big nights out with loads of people. Grabbing a coffee with a course-mate or phoning home are ways to connect as well.

It’s important to remember that our mind and bodies are connected too. So looking after your body means that you’ll be looking after your mind! Make sure that you check your Habit Tracker (see resources section below!) to ensure you’re eating, sleeping and resting well.

SOME OF OUR PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS...

This November, we were out with little bake-kits to give you all. These kits contained ingredients and the recipe for cookies! Because we all know that food brings people together and that baking with friends (or for friends!) is a great way to reconnect and make sure you're spending time with others.

We also had our furry friends back for some cuddles – big thanks to Caring Canines for joining us again! And if that wasn’t enough, our very own Jordan ran a macramé workshop to help you connect with some new people and take some time out from your studies.

During this month we also held a special livestream event filled with self-care tips and advice ahead of the winter months. Missed it? Don't worry, you can still watch it over on our YouTube channel:

Don't forget!...

The Small Things Matter campaign is all about supporting you, with tools, tips and a bunch of courage to take the next step for you, however small: every step you take is no step too small. Small steps have big impact.

You can find us out and about (usually on the courtyard) on the first Tuesday of each month talking wellbeing and sharing advice. Expect things like cactus repotting, cups of tea and self-care gifts!
