The Story Works: Illustrator Needed! (Volunteer Role)

Who are we?

The Story Works runs structured story writing workshops for local disadvantaged children aged 7 – 18 years of age. The workshops are run either at Bournemouth University’s Talbot campus or within a local school that has applied for a workshop visit. The workshops are age appropriate and delivered by volunteers with a view to allowing children to express their imagination through the stories they wish to tell.

What's the role?

We are looking for an enthisiatic and skilled illustrator who will help bring the children’s stories alive by the addition of the illustrator’s pictures in response to the children’s story prompts. Each of our workshops needs at least one illustrator!

Any volunteer commitment would be for three hours once every two weeks on either a Wednesday afternoon or a Saturday mid-morning. You don’t have to be an illustrator, you may have other creative skills that we can include in a workshop. As a volunteer The Story Works offers the freedom to not only take part and help change children’s lives but also to have a say in how that should happen.
