Living Willow Sculpture Volunteer Day

Saturday 04 May 2019, 10am - 3:30pm

Location: Meet at AUBSU

On Saturday 4th May, we'll be going down to Upton Country Park to help them plant and build a living willow structure and we want your help! Living willow is great for the environment and absorbing carbon dioxide form the atmosphere. Its structures provide habitats and food for wildlife and its leaves will enrich the soil (or compost heap) year on year.

Volunteers will be preparing the Willow (which was cut on site earlier this year), preparing the ground, then planting and weaving the Willow to form the structure.

Where? Upton County Park, Poole (but we've arranged transport from AUB)

When? Saturday 4th May, 10am coach departure from AUB. (Return at 3.30pm)

What shall I bring?  Wellies/waterproof shoes! Willow sculptures are planted in shallow water and boggy areas. Also bring a bottle of water, sensible clothing and snacks.

How much will it cost? We're only asking £1 from you and that will get you transport to and from site, as well as a hot lunch on the day.

Please buy a ticket to sign up or you won't be able to attend! Places are limited and they're going on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Due to limited places, this event is only open to current AUB & BU students.
