Let It Be Glorious
Bolanle Tajudeen, founder of Black Blossoms will discuss her curatorial practice and give insight into her latest project, 'If We Are Going To Heal, Let It Be Glorious' a group touring exhibition which explores socio-political issues, feminism and self love from the perspective of black women artists, living in Britain in 2017. The session will begin with a selection of the short films that are part of the exhibition. Followed by participants creatively responding to Mattie Loyce (founder of Missions Gallery) questions around healing.
What brings you healing?
If we are to heal with glory and without shame what would that look like?
What does it look like to heal loudly and proudly?
Responses can be in the form of poetry, articles, drawings or performance and participants are encouraged to bring photos and objects of inspiration.
The session will end by sharing tips on self care and self love.
Black Blossoms was founded in 2015 and is a platform highlighting the voices of black women in education and the creative industries by hosting conferences, screenings, panels and exhibitions.
