Creative Kids Workshop Leaders


Creative Kids are looking for talented artists to share their skills with local children age 6 - 14 during the School Holidays at the Creative Kids Arts Education Centre in Boscombe. The Award Winning Charity offers children the opportunity to gain a national qualification in the arts via The Arts Award. 

Visiting Artists will be expected to plan and deliver a two hour workshop in either of the following disciplines:

  • illustration
  • graphic design
  • costume 
  • acting
  • creative writing
  • animation 
  • textiles
  • drawing
  • film

Visiting Artists are supported by The Arts Manager and an Arts Facilitator. You will be working with a group of 20 children max. You will need to send the Arts Manager a lesson plan one week prior to delivery to support your resource needs. Slots available are 10 am  - Noon or 2 - 4 pm. The two hour session needs to adhere to the following structure in order for it to dovetail into the Arts Award.


The Sessions

15 minute introduction to artist work - portfolio sharing/presentation of work - Meet the Artist!

5 minute Q & A with children 

15 minute demonstration of craft (flexible) - Be inspired!

1 hour workshop - children create their own piece - Create!

25 minute peer share - children share their work with the group, get feedback and record their journey on their digital portfolios - Share!

July 22nd - August 30th (weekdays only)

Pay and Resources

The rate of pay is £30 per workshop + art materials

Artists must be registered freelance with a UTR number and have their own Public Liability Insurance. 

In-House Resources: We can provide basic arts equipment and scrap materials, 20 iPads (we can download apps you may need), a large projector with apple TV for peer sharing, a PA system (900w), a MacBook Pro, fold up tables, chairs and a large space. Further resources would need to be sources by the artist and a budget agreed with the Charity Manager.
