Activity: Plant Pot Painting

Plant Pot Painting

It's Mental Health Awareness Week, so take some time out for yourself and get creative.

Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event for the whole of the UK to focus on achieving good mental health. The Mental Health Foundation started the event 21 years ago. Each year the Foundation continues to set the theme, organise and host the week, this year's theme is nature!

Seeing and being around plants can help you to feel calmer and more relaxed, therefore decreasing levels of anxiety. We’ve planned a little activity for you to paint your own plant pot. Have a go at our design or make it your own and get connected with nature!

Have a look at our Small Things Matter Instagram to see a video of how we created ours.

Follow the steps below to jazz up your very own plant pot. All you'll need is:

- A terracotta plant pot

- Pencil

- Rubber

- Paintbrushes

- A selection of acrylic paints in colours of your choice

- Posca or Liquid Chalk based pens

- A little happy plant
