#Sabbdate from Jordan and Stella ~ 2nd Edition!

Jordan and Stella give us an update on everything they’ve done since the summer!

The festive season is here, and before we closed the office doors on 2019, we caught up with Jordan & Stella to find out what they’ve thought of the last 3 months, it’s time for #sabbdate number 2.

It’s fair to say that the term has passed so quickly but all things considered it has been an amazing first term.

September was full of socials and Freshers events. It was also first the opportunity for us to meet you guys and properly introduce ourselves. It was heart-warming to see how quickly you all got stuck in with the events that were organised. We had a crazy number of events happening throughout Fresher’s week some of which we had personally never experienced ourselves! Just to take a step back in time, do you guys remember Drink and Draw where there was an abundant selection of cheese, wine, juice and grapes? Or our Cosy Cinema where we watched Howls moving Castle. Let’s just say that there was a lot of socialising, cooking, eating, and at times fitness was added to the mix but all in all an incredible month.

October came swiftly after and one of the first events we had was The Small Things Matter courtyard popup, where you were invited to repot and rehome a baby cactus! This is one of many highlights of the month because it made us realise that you guys love plants as much as we do! We also had the AUBSU By-Elections happening and for the first time in a long while, we now have a full team of Executive Officers, how cool is that?!

By November the weather changed…It started getting a little colder and at this point the scarves and boots came out. We helped with volunteering week, had another Market Day, and as part of our AUBSU Bus Trips, we also went to London to see Olafur Elliason’s exhibition titled ‘In Real Life’.

Now, here we are in the month of December, no snow to be seen…YET. We would like to emphasise what an incredible term it’s been! From getting to meet you all in and out of your course groups, to learning about some of your interests. We wish you all and very Merry Christmas and of course a Happy New year – see you in 2020!
