Special Tasters

As part of our Give It A Go programme, we're keen to give you opportunities to try out some activities that we can't run weekly. Make sure you watch this space for our taster sessions!

Upcoming Tasters:

Kizomba Dance Workshop

Ever heard of Kizomba?

The word Kizomba is actually derived from the Angolan word for ‘party’ or ‘celebration’.

Kizomba is a relatively new style of African Portuguese dance originated from Angola in 1980’s. It is most commonly taught in the UK is Urban Kizomba, or “Urban Kiz” and uses basic footwork, shapes and rules.

Jamii is a teacher of Kizomba in the partner dance scene of Bournemouth and runs classes to practice and socialise in local clubs. She is ready to show you the basic steps to allow your body to flow and embrace self expression through the flow of Kizomba dance.

Try Kizomba dance for beginners basic steps workshop 7:30pm-8:30pm Monday 22nd November at the Activities Room, AUB Campus.

The session is free but please book your place at aubsu.co.uk/tickets

Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP)

Dorset is famed for it's stunning coastline and surfing hotspots, which is why we've partnered up with Bournemouth Surf Academy to bring stand-up paddle boarding (SUPing) to AUB. We'll be holding discounted taster sessions so you can try SUPing with all the equipment provided and under the watchful eye of a trained instructor.

These session passes are sold out. Keep an eye here in case of extra releases later in the Spring Term!

If you've already done the Give it a Go SUP sessions and need something more, or if you're already a pro with a board, then join the AUB Surf Club for regular surfing trips with other students.
