Music

We're very lucky to have a fantastic music department just next door that is dedicated to offering students of AUB and BU a wide range of musical opportunities.

Whether you just want the space to practice, are looking for tuition or want to join a group, University Music - Bournemouth can help.

If you're a talented musician University Music may even be able to offer you a scholarship to help you continue your musical development alongside your studies. Scholarships are available talented instrumentalists / singers who have achieved grade 8 (ABRSM or Trinity) in their main study and ideally who have A level music.

Students who can demonstrate the potential to gain grade 8 within a year may also be eligible for consideration. The scholarship covers the cost of lessons throughout the academic year and any exam / accompaniment fees. You will need to commit to one of the BU/AUB ensemble.

BSO Student tickets

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Vibes scheme offers the opportunity for AUB and BU students to experience professional orchestral concerts for just £5.  By signing up for a free Vibes card you can get £5 tickets for BSO concerts at Bournemouth Pavilion, Lighthouse Poole, Portsmouth Guildhall, and Great Hall Exeter.

What's more, the BSO is looking for Vibes Reps to be the face of the scheme; volunteering their time to act as ambassadors in and around a selection of universities and communities in the South and South West of England.

To register for your free Vibes card and for information about the role of Reps, the benefits and how to apply, head to the BSO website.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra looks forward to hearing from you.
