My aim as AUBSU’s Community Officer will be to establish a cohesive relationship between the students and the general community through the encouragement of more volunteering opportunities and activities.
For this, the cooperation with Community Wardens is fundamental.
In my opinion, the elderly community has been left out of this integration, there’s a lot students may help with and vice-versa.
Why is this important?
AUB can only grow as an institution if it cares about people. The people that study here (YOU!!), the people that work here, the people that live next to it. EVERYONE!
So, it’s important to make AUB an institution of people, and not just a corporate business.
We matter as students, and so do our actions.
Together we can have a huge impact within the community.
And that’s just the start!
