My name is Marius Samavicius and I am running to be your part-time INTERNATIONAL OFFICER (EQUALITIES). I'm a third-year fine art student. I believe that our student union already do a great job to ensure equality within the university, but I believe I can further improve this.
My aims are to:
Involve international students
I want to make sure international students feel at home during their time at uni, and for them to feel they can be involved in the student union as much as they want to be. I propose to do this by creating events with various international themes and develop activities specifically for international students.
I believe it is important for all students to feel they can approach the student union to voice their opinions and ideas. I think it is important for opinions to be heard, and rights to be explored by all students, and I aim to achieve this by increasing ways in which students can express their opinions.
I would like to run campaigns to increase student's awareness of the diversity within the university, as I believe diversity is important for students to be aware of and learn about.
