OCTOBER

Transitions & Anxiety

WHAT WAS THIS MONTH ALL ABOUT?

Our theme for October is Anxiety & Transitions. That’s because for many of you, this is your first year at university. That’s a really big step to take and you might be feeling anxiety about a whole range of things, like forming new friendships, living independently or keeping up with your course.

But transitions don’t just refer to big changes like starting uni. They can be any sort of change that affects you: moving from second to third year and coping with a heavier workload, a change in your support system or a new environment to adjust to. These can all trigger anxiety, especially when the ‘unknown’ is involved.

SOME OF OUR PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS...

This month we were out on the courtyard, getting you all to repot cacti to take home. We wanted to get you thinking about the importance of ‘repotting’ yourselves and how this transition can be an opportunity for new growth. Plus, we wanted you to make your room a little more personal with your new cactus!

Don't forget!...

The Small Things Matter campaign is all about supporting you, with tools, tips and a bunch of courage to take the next step for you, however small: every step you take is no step too small. Small steps have big impact.

You can find us out and about (usually on the courtyard) on the first Tuesday of each month talking wellbeing and sharing advice. Expect things like cactus repotting, cups of tea and self-care gifts!
